Happy Holidays!

December 9th, 2007

The season is upon us. The chill is in the air, the stores are mobbed and gift wrapping and giving is all around us. I love this time of year. People are usually joyous, the lights and decorations are so beautiful. Children are caroling, helping out those less fortunate and learning the real spirit of giving from the heart.

I write a holiday letter every year to my friends and relatives. The letter is finished and little by little I am printing them out and sending them on their way. I always write just a little something in pen, to make it personal. I think this shows that I care just a little bit more.

My GFCF food book is really thriving. It is near completion. I will then hit the literary agents up with my proposal. Already I sent one out, it came back, saying it was very timely and great…but she did not have time in her schedule for it. Yet, she took the time to improve some of that I said, to better catch an agents attention. I thought that was so sweet of her to do that for me.

Let’s hope 2008 brings a lot of joy to all of you. May it bring you love, happiness, warmth, and success!

December is almost here

November 29th, 2007

Yes, it’s that time of the year for decorations, good cheer, lots of shopping,  choosing gifts, wrapping gifts, gift giving, receiving holiday cards, maybe getting a letter or picture ready, special foods, hot chocolate, sitting by the fireplace…………………………..but most importantly…. a time to thank your friends and family for being there for you. Don’t keep your thoughts to yourself. Let those around you who mean a lot, know how vitally important they are to your life.

Hug your loved ones, write them a note telling them how you feel. Remember what the season IS supposed to be about—–  miracles, memories,  love, giving and charity.

Give from your heart and soul, not just your wallet. Remember those less fortunate than you. This is what it is all about, not spending 100’s of dollars to buy a bunch of toys!

Have a peaceful season. Be good. Be kind. Be loving. AND SMILE.

Almost Turkey Day

November 19th, 2007

I already ordered my Organic turkey from Whole Foods. If you have not ever eaten a FRESH, Organic turkey, you owe it to yourself to get one….it’s only once a year! It is so worth it. Grocery store turkeys are loaded with chemicals and just taste awful, compared to a REAL turkey! You will thank me. Remember, it is ONE day a year.

I cut up my GFCF bread cubes today…they are in the cold oven, drying out, to get ready for stuffing, that I will make on Thursday. I got a great GFCF recipe for stuffing from the Celiacs Forum (thanks JEN!)

My GFCF book is coming along. Today I added a ton of resource web sites for the diet, autism and general disability info. I am getting several moms to write success stories of their child’s road to leaving autistic traits behind. They are so exciting to read!

Have a wonderful holiday with your loved ones. Remember the real reason for this holiday, to be thankful for what you have and for those around you. Tell your friends and relatives what they mean to you, and how thankful you are to have them in your life.

We have a family tradition that we go around the table and each of us says what they are thankful for, before we can eat.

Give it a try !

People from all over the world want my 4 page guide

November 6th, 2007

I am busy writing my book. I am on Chapter 10 already! I am so motivated to get this done and OUT….there is a huge need for my book. I am getting amazing responses from people all over the world, begging for my 4 page guide and for my advice. I’ve heard from Greece, S. Africa, Phillipines, Canada and New Zealand, as well as all over the USA!

I need to pay it forward. Our miracle can belong to other families, as well.

My book is going well.

October 22nd, 2007

HI…I have not written on my blog for a while now, as I am so busy writing my book on the GFCF diet. I am so motivated to getting it finished (I still have a long way to go)…as you know with Jenny Mc Carthy’s  appearances on so many shows discussing her book….there is a huge need for my book! I glanced at Jenny’s book for about an hour last week at Border’s. I was not totally impressed, as she used an awful lot of cuss words. I am not a prude, but I do not think those were necessary and it made the book look weak and had less credible.

I am compiling ideas that I have used, helpful things that many have thanked me for, some ideas from others; about what works for them, or what helped them and a whole variety of things like, where to find certain foods, brand names, etc.

This book is taking  up  lot of  my time, researching companies and details that I have in my cupboard and on my computer, but not completely in my head.

I am enjoying writing it and hope a literary agent will see the value in it, then a publisher will do the same.

Once one book is out …the 2nd (Putting Your Kids First) will not be far behind!

I am writing my second book…on the GFCF diet

October 10th, 2007

Well…I have decided to put my “Putting Your Kids First” book on hold for a bit. It is completed, but it takes so much time to get to literary agents…then publishers..and it will always be a timely subject.

Now the GFCF diet has become my primary focus. Thanks to Jenny Mc Carthy, who has had her face plastered all over..I need to do this NOW. She has spoken of the positive results that her son and family have experienced. The word is out. It does work! It can work!

I have been passing out my 4 page info packet on the diet for several years now on several message boards, as well as when I speak at autism support groups. Well , now I am on a GFCF kids yahoo group message board  spreading the info some more.  http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/GFCFKids/

Gosh…one of the moms from another message board mentioned my web site and my knowledge in one post and the emails have not stopped……I am thrilled!!! This has given me the push to get this GFCF book completed. There is so much information that I have to give…it will take time. Parents need to know how to do this diet. It isn’t just as easy as taking away gluten and casein and dyes.

There are other wonderful resources and books out there… but nothing as comprehensive as the one that I am writing. My book will have step-by-step details on every aspect of this diet, how to’s, when, why, where, etc.

I am so fired up about this!

My freelancing career is taking off, too. I just got published again. I wrote an article on health related facilities, where to seek help for many different illnesses, disorders and diseases.

I think this is a turning point in my life. I can just picture myself on Oprah!!!

Yes, that is my goal! I have an important message to get out. This diet CAN work and there are thousands who know that and thousands more that need to find out.

With statistics 1 out of 150 kids being on the autism spectrum…and more and more are being diagnosed daily…the word must get out there. There is hope!

Hugs.

It is Almost Fall

September 15th, 2007

Are you feeling the brisk breezes? I love it! I am so done with the heat. Those who know me, know that there are two things that I REALLY HATE. Hot weather and getting up early. I am a night owl, my body requires it. My body does not require the alarm clock to blare at my head and tell me I have to crawl out of my comfy bed and get everyone up and out. But, sadly, this is part of life. No, I do not get more done, because I had to get up early. My most productive part of the day is from 10pm to 1am. I write the best, relax the best and focus the best. But, I also need my sleep, so when the the alarm clock has to wake me, I have to obey it and get to sleep early. For me, early is before midnight.

Fall also means cold season is here! I already have my first head cold and legally, it is not even Fall yet. Joy. But I popped  a zinc in my mouth (always take it with food), had some of my mom’s matzo ball soup and hopefully within a day or two, I’ll be back to normal.

One good thing about Fall is holidays…not because they are all joyous, yes, they are, but because we get to sleep in!!!!!!  We have yet to have a full 5 day week at school and we’ve been there for 3 weeks now. This is a good thing! This coming week will be the first full week of school.   Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving are coming!  The leaves will be changing, the air will be crisp, the long sleeves and pants will come out of the closet. Flip Flops will take a rest and the holiday season will be upon us.

Stories on Helium

September 2nd, 2007

I recently started to write for www.helium.com  They pay you to write articles on 1000’s of subjects. It’s a lot of fun. Even publishers read the work, often offering contests on specific subjects. Put in my name to search and read all of my articles. See how I was ranked!! Maybe you can find some information that you were searching for, or write your own topics.
