Hot Travel Tip

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Summer is upon us. Some schools in America are out of school already for the summer. Others have only a few more weeks left. One word that is synonymous with summer is VACATION. Many families around the world grab their kids and head out to see the world around them. Every community has amazing adventures awaiting you. You might only need to drive one hour from your home to find a terrific summer vacation site.  Or perhaps you prefer to drive to a far-off area, or hop on a plane, train or ship. With online access today we can plan our entire trip with the touch of our fingers.

The best tip that I have found is an amazing site called: www.biddingfortravel.com  This site helps you to get amazing prices on priceline.com. Priceline is a web site that offers bidding for hotels and other vacation needs. If you go to www.priceline.com  and click on “name your own price” you’ll learn more about how to bid for a hotel.

What I recommend first, though is to head to BFT’s site and familiarize yourself with the site and the destinations that you are considering traveling to for your vacation. Hotels that have come up under different star values will be shown on this site. People register (for free) and comment on the bids that they won, while looking for a hotel (also airfare and rental cars). You can see what prices were offered and accepted by people all over the world, for accommodations all over the world.  Also on the site are commentaries by people who have been to the various hotels. You can see the common names of hotels that come up on PL for each star value. You can even ask for help ffrom the moderators that run BFT.

To keep the BFT site up and running, when you are ready to make a bid, please go to www.amazing-bargains.com and then click on priceline in the right column. By doing this, BFT gets a small kickback to help run the wonderful BFT site.

Do not pay a fortune for hotels. affordable hotels are at your fingertips. If you make a bid and win..you are stuck, unless you buy insurance ($5/day) so read EVERY little tiny detail before you bid for your hotel. AGAIN YOUR MONEY IS NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE,  unless you buy insurance…this is all explained on the PL site. Read everything carefully. Feel free to email me if you have questions.

Happy Vacationing!!!

Author’s First Official Blog Entry

Welcome to my Blog. I am so glad to be here. I hope you will all visit often and offer comments and thoughts.

AAHHH!! The Mommy Wars!  The war is on…. a fight for and against feminism.

Many moms who work full time make comments like: “We needed to upgrade our lifestyle”, “We need two incomes to make it”, “ I would go crazy being home with my kids all day long”, “I need to show my children the importance of making an income”, “I need the stimulation from other adults”, “I have a career to maintain” or  “I don’t want to lose my skills.”

Many Stay-at-Home-Moms say comments like: “They must not love their children”, “How can they abandon their children to strangers?”, “Why is a job or are materialistic things more important than their children?” “How can they not be more involved in their children’s lives?” “Who will help their kids with their homework?”, “Who will take them to extra curricular activities?”, or “Who will instill proper values onto their children?”

I am sure you have heard all of these comments. Maybe you’ve even made a few of them.  Everyone has a comment to make about what they feel is right. Right for whom?  For themselves?  For those around them?

Is there a happy medium? Can we moms still work part-time around our kid’s schedules and the kids are none the wiser? Can we “stay home” full time and volunteer at our kid’s schools and for many causes that we feel strongly about? Can we do things to fulfill our own lives, like take classes, read more, do projects? Are the SAHM’s sitting home watching talk shows, game shows and soap operas and ah yes, eating bonbons all day long, until it is time to pick up the kids?

What do you think? Most likely the moms who will visit this blog will be SAHM’s. So, tell us why do you do it?  Why did you make the choice to not work full time and keep your kids in daycare?  And…the famous of all questions, also stated by many husbands throughout the years “What the heck to you do all day?” Let us know!

My blog will be about sharing tons of helpful ways to not work full time.  It will be full of tips and hints to teach you how to do it financially and emotionally! How to drop your kids off when school starts and pick them up right after school.  How to volunteer, find time for yourself and how to fulfill yourself without sacrificing time with your children.

Welcome!
